As the title says, everyone's favorite malware has been caught logging users keystrokes. A quick Google search will give you pages of info on it ;)

The U.S. government is once again considering banning it. I wouldn't be surprised if it disappears from the app stores. Good riddance I say :D

Should I make my last tik-tok clip? Joking I never used it but I could see this coming

I'd ask for a source, but if this is true it's going to be all over the news anyway LOL

Oh it is... like I said, open another tab and do a quick Google search and you can read for days lol. I actually watched the story break on the news.

Guess TikTok was just ticking self destruction bomb

Don't matter to me I don't use it but I'm sure the young ones be upset
I don't use it either, but it's infecting Facebook and YouTube created their Shorts to complete with it. It's like a virus for people with no (much less short) attention span.

I think Instagram also lol

The quicker it's gone, the better. Nothing of value would be lost, and we can get back to proper landscape video. XD

Don't count on it, people were shooting vertical videos on their phone a decade ago and will continue to do so for Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat/etc.

Do we all remember the old google camera UI that told you to turn the screen horizontally if you were holding it vertically when vertical pictures started gaining popularity? Google may have been out of touch, but it was pretty funny.

I don't get the heat TikTok gets. Yes, I'm aware of it's ownership ties however, is the data scraping it does really that far off from say FB? It all comes off like a very bad double standard (Do as I say, not as I do) and the Government just wants to give it the boot because it has no control over it, meanwhile they can tap into FB's data whenever they want. If TikTok was U.S. owned, and was doing all the same things I doubt we would hear as much about it because the Government would be able to peep that data.

Personally, I don't really care about the data collection stuff. As you elude to, I'd be more concerned about what the 5eyes are collecting... What are china going to do? not let me in? I wasn't going there anyway lol. I won't use it because of the way LGBT people and other "unsavouries" are treated. I refuse to participate in censorship of that nature..

Its entirely because its Chinese, that's why Huawei products got banned, possible data collection from a foreign government. I highly doubt the Chinese having the data is anymore dangerous than the United States but its politics.

I personally don't like it because of the content, even before the data mining issues popped up.
