Time Remaining Battery Estimate...

Does anyone know how Sammy/Lollipop calculates the time remaining? I don't care for having the battery percentage on and use Battery Widget Reborn set to low priority so that a swipe down of the notification shade gives me the percentage when needed. I've noticed BWR seems to calculate the time remaining based on the 1% delta from one percent to the next. This typically shows me several hours more than what the onboard battery area shows. Not a big thing just wondering if anyone knows how the phone calculates it.....
