Tiny holes missing on the extended battery cover

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but there are 2 tiny holes missing just above the camera flash on the extended battery case I purchased from Verizon. Picture attached.
I wonder if these holes served any purpose? Any ideas?

It's just the way it was manufactured. They have no purpose.

That's just odd, especially seeing that every case I have seen has the cutout for those holes. Weird!

It's where the antenna that's in the cover connects, according to our store folks.

Maybe they "perfected" the antenna connection on the extended battery door! ;-)
I still think its odd...
