I just discovered a faster way to get app launch icons onto your homescreen than the usual "Tap and hold on empty Home Screen space>Select from Add To Home menu whether it's an App or Widget>Scroll thru list of whatever and select it" method.
Here's the fast way:
1. Open the All Apps list.
B. Select the app you want and press and hold its icon.
3. The home screen will come to the fore and you can just let go to drop it on the screen or drag it off to the adjacent screens.
4. PROFIT!
When I held it down, I thought it might pop up a context menu offering to send a shortcut to the Home screen, so it was a pleasant surprise that it was drop and go on with life.
Hope this helps y'all!
