Tips for Factory Reset/Restore apps (appbrain the answer?)

I have a lot of junk on my EVO, and would like to do a clean wipe/erase before I install Froyo next week (clean installs always seem to be better on pc's than Vista over XP, so to speak).

WHAT'S THE BEST METHOD to wipe & get my apps back?

I did find the tip below in the forums, which is a HUGE tip, but what else?

Any wipers out there? What's the best way?

Here's the tip about preserving all the apps for easy re-install:

The "apps on phone" list is tied to the phone as master.

Before you wipe phone, copy the apps onto another "list"

Wipe phone. Install appbrain. Then copy backup of apps list back to "apps on phone" list.

Then sync appbrain, and all your apps r back!
