I've been a verizon customer for 24 years since day 1. I don't mind paying a little more for superior service, but as of the last couple of years, they've changed completely by lying, deceit, and finding ways to up your bill without most people noticing. I do because I look at every single bill. Can anyone recommend another carrier that will give good coverage and use 4G-LTE? My current verizon bill for 5 lines with unlimited talk & text & 10 gigs sharable data is hovering around the $300.00 a month range. Id like to get it to around 200.00.

What phone(s) are you using?

What part of the US are you located in?

City or boonies?

Good coverage would depend specifically as to where you are... Cell coverage can vary greatly even within the same building

My wife and I have been trying to get away from Verizon too. We're also tired of their "small print" account changes. We both still have unlimited data that's why we've been sticking with it. Supposedly there is to be yet another price hike in November for unlimited data users. If that does happen, we plan to jump ship. We've been loyal customers for around 8 years. Oh well

Phones on my plan are galaxy S6 edge, S7 edge, iPhone 6s, 6, and 5. In a very strong verizon area. Southern nh. Actually all carriers have good service.

Go into a Best Buy store by you. Their mobile department isn't paid on commission and can do a comparison of ALL major phone carriers for you and figure out the best deal for you and your family. I have been utilizing Best Buy and their people for years. They're the BEST in the business and aren't going to sell you something you don't need. Amazing customer service.

But, how much data do you actually use?

I guess it's tied to being a data thing regarding the pricing. My bill has been steadily going down over time. Ironically perhaps if I were to switch to another carrier, any carrier I'd end up paying more for less. With wifi I need little data and have never gone over my 3GB which pleases me. But it's a single line no sharing, easier to control that way. Good luck OP, that's a hellofa long time to be with Verizon. Seems loyalty doesn't mean what it used to.

Verizon doesn't care much for loyalty,if you have udp.

With that said all of my udp lines are still paying $29.99 for now

Could you post examples of them deceitfully increasing your bill?

Are your lines on contract or are you on a More Everything Plan or Verizon Plan?

It would take a lot to post. But more recently, my daughters old iPhone finally needed replacement. So we went and got her a new 6s. I made no changes to our plan at all. Very next bill, its up $40.00 more. Reason I got - we discovered her contract was up and had to give her a new contract. What? Ive never heard of that before. And if this was true, why wasn't I notified? It started 2 years ago when I walked into verizon to with cash to buy the note 4 when it came out. I wanted to keep my unlimited data so i figured to pay cash. The rep told me that I couldnt keep the unlimited plan any longer even if I paid cash. When I got home, I called verizon to find out when their rules changed. They said they didn't change, but since I already signed the contract there was nothing they could do. That was lie & deciet number 1.

To jh: that's a good idea about best buy. Im going to try it. I'll do 1 line to try their recommendation. By the way, since posting, I spent the afternoon yesterday, with other lower priced carriers. When I told them I had 5 lines, 4 out if 6 actually agreed to give me a 30 day free trial of their network.

Verizon reps unfortunately provides a lot of inaccurate information. When you got rid of udp... You could have returned the phone and had udp reinstated then

But if you are on the Verizon plan then going on contract would be a $40 line access charge. Off contract the line access charge is $20. But if Verizon never told you this and it wasn't in the paperwork provided then contact Verizon, explain the situation and say that you want to return the phone so that the access charge would go down, since you were not informed of the price increase when you bought the phone

This information should have been provided when you signed the new 2 year contract...

VZW reps are useless. People here know more then the reps there. With that being said.

I thought about switching to ATT but I would need a booster at my house since signal is so-so. I had ATT with my previous company so I can directly compare.

And after its all said and done, I would of ending up paying the same but less data. I'm on a promo 40GB plan and with ATT, I would be on a 20GB plan. I think it was cheaper before factoring all those small fees and taxes but ended up being the same as VZW. T-Mo and Sprint doesn't do it for me since I travel and they are questionable for me.

Been with Verizon...and with att. Tried T-Mobile but coverage in my area would not work.
Att was over half the cost.... But data sucked... everywhere I went local and travelling.
Verizon definitely has the best coverage.... You get what you pay for.
