Titanium Backup Pro - backing up to Google Drive

I'm a TB noob. First go at it last night. Got so far as to be able have backing up to GoogleDrive enabled, but it's not backing up anything.

I watched the 'how-to' YouTube vids on this (https://youtu.be/nXLK8xz-nLE and others), but it just didn't work for me at the last step - nothing is backing up.

I found that i first need to 'Batch Backup' to my local (phone) storage (doing that to SD Card) and then when I try go to back up to Google Drive, it will transfer the backup across.

Is this standard behaviour and the way it's supposed to be?

Would love some help please.
