Titanium restore question

This might seem like a pretty basic question, but I have no experience with this specifically. I did very regular backups on my Thunderbolt, will I be able to restore them over to my nexus with no issues? Yes, obviously I understand that I will have to root first and then install titanium, just getting that out of the way before someone tries the most basic suggestions :)

Restoring system data may cause problems. But you should be able to restore your app and app data without any real issues.

Where on my phone do I save my Titanium Backups from my Droid X for them to appear in Titanium Backup on my Nexus? Because there is no SD card of course in the Nexus, I don't know where the Titanium Backup folder is on the Nexus (normally listed on the SD card and Titanium Backup folder and I would paste all my files into the backup folder inside).

The SD card folder on the Nexus acts just like an SD card. Just copy the data to your SD card folder and the Nexus will behave like you put that onto an SD card. Also, with the TiBu pro version, it has dropbox syncing support.

Figured it out! I just moved the folder I put in using root explorer and renamed it backup. It is now in TitaniumBackup/backup and then I used preferences in TB to designate what folder on the phone I wanted the program to look for and put my backups in. All good :D Restoring my backups and re-backing up the phone after was easy and fast. This processor blazes and destroys my X! (still love my X which will be used as a media player and a Google Voice VOIP phone now, BTW)

Yeah, I never backed up system data since I went between Sense and AOSP all the time, so that won't be an issue. For most of the apps, I'll just start from scratch, but it will be nice to be able to keep my game data in the transition.

Thanks for the responses, I think I'll enjoy my time here in the Nexus forums!

This worked for me, I learned my lesson when trying to switch from Sense ROM to AOSP on Tbolt. Apps and apps data only for me!

I found a solution: Enter TiBu and go to "Preferences". Scroll to the very bottom under "Troubleshoot settings" and select "App processing mode". Pick "Interactive". It'll make you install every app one by one, but it works for now.

Thanks again for welcoming me. I'm proud to be a new member here and can't wait to start my journey to the Galaxy

Did this work for you? I screwed up and restored System Data from my X. *smacks forehead* Did a data wipe back to stock. I was having the same problems you were, then tried going the 'Interactive' option. It worked, and I was able to manually install all the apps. However, none of them work. They all give the "unfortunately, whateverapp has stopped" message. I was seeing some other places that this may be an ICS problem when trying to restore from GB backups. Did yours work?

Thanks in advance!

Yes it worked for me, it installed about 45 apps manually. Each app popped up asking to install it and did it to every single one. I did have a few of coarse that isn't playing nice with ICS I had on my Tbolt but it worked.

Glad to hear it worked for you. It let me install them, but not open them. Oh well, I didn't lose a lot of data I cared about. Even after updating them manually in the market, they wouldn't open. I did a factory reset and it redownloaded all of them, even the ones that it didn't automatically do the first time. Just interesting.

Is anybody else having trouble with this? My TiBU restore is getting about 60% of the way through and then hanging. If I kill it, I'm getting a consistent "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped " message. I make it through about 60 apps before it croaks. The only way I've been able to stop the error message is to re-flash the ROM, but then I still need to restore my apps and system data...

FYI, I'm using the batch restore all apps plus system data command. Rooted running Axiom 2.1 with just the circle battery mod.

Anybody have thoughts on this? Is there a specific order that I should try and restore things (apps, then system data, etc)? I'm new to Titanium Backup (and Android in general), but generally pretty savvy with this sort of thing. Thanks for the help.

I have never been one to back up system data, but I would especially avoid it when going from one phone to another. I did my restore with just app+data, and it worked perfectly.
