I went from getting 2 days 13 hours battery life with GPS, WiFi, and LTE disabled to a little over 1 day only with Tizen 3!!Screenshot_20171231-014730.jpg

Did you look for a solution or just see your stats after updating and come to the conclusion it's Samsung's fault?

When did you update to Tizen 3.0?

What version of Samsung Gear and Gear S Plug In are you using?

Did you clear your phones cache after updating?

It's been running Tizen 3 for about a week. Plugins and everything are latest. I don't use a special apps. Its all only base apps that where pre-installed. Caches and full reset was done after updating to the 3 version was done after updating finished.

Manually check for another update. Samsung had pushed another one out to address this.

Edit... Sorry I see you state you have the latest version.

Restart your watch sometimes you'll have a rogue app that kills the battery and as mentioned above check for update

It's far from a rogue app. I haven't downloaded anything. It's all the defaults like on Tizen 2 where I had no issues at all. I do however restart everytime before charging.

I had an update just a couple days ago. I did have a message that once the update was finished, my defaults might be reset. So yeah, I could see where the default settings might be draining your watch faster than normal.

Only been the one update which came 3 days ago. With how dumb Samsung is that small update will probably take a month to hit like this one since they do them in stupid batches..

Well you've definitely gotten the troubleshooting out of the way. That sucks. I'm on T-Mobile LTE version and I'm waiting for the update... I thought I wanted it... Perhaps not.

I wouldn't say that Tizen 3 sucks, but is anyone else seeing any lagging after the update? I'm not having battery drain issues, but its noticeably less smooth after the update. When I lift, there is a hesitation before the watch face comes on. When I turn the dial, there is often a hesitation. Even typing my PIN in to unlock its not smooth. It was completely smooth before, and not now. Anyone else seeing this? I'm considering doing a factory reset on the S3 to see if that clears it back up.

Just updated to Tizen 3 and I no longer show Remotely Connected as how I am running. I only get BT and Stand Alone. Does this mean I've lost LTE? If so that means I can't get email or many other things when I'm away from my phone.

they may have made their battery charge state more linear. Before, it would go from 40% to 0 fast but slow from 100% to 40%.

I *will* say that Tizen 3 sucks. I'm very disappointed, because I loved this watch before the update.

Im getting dramatically worse battery life, and the lags mentioned above. In addition, notifications rarely show up when I lift my wrist to see them after the vibration. the watch face turns on, but the notification is absent. I have to swipe right to see what it is.

I wish I could go back. I see no benefits to this update at all.

I was getting lagging across the board after the Tizen 3 update - slow to turn on when I lifted my wrist, slow to respond when I turned the dial, etc.. I finally did a factory reset yesterday and that resolved the issue, so I'd recommend it. My Gear S3 is back to its quickness. I recommend anyone having odd behavior after the update to do this. Its not like a smartphone... pretty easy to reconfigure.

Another update... after ny factory reset on Tizen 3.0.1, I've gone 48 hours from full charge and still have 48% this morning when I woke up. I've not gone to the gym in those days (which does drain things since I stream Spotify during workout), but I have used it pretty much as normal. I also setup a bunch of credit cards on Samsung Pay during that time.

I don't see any advantage from 3 the way I use the watch. the Bluetooth connection issues had been fixed with updates to the Gear app before 3 hit. 3.0 removed the ADT service that I want and had paid for a year ahead. 3 seems to connect to AT&T rather than my Wi-Fi when Bluetooth not available. the battery life is less that before too.

The AT&T Numbersync seems to disable itself too. I would consider going back to 2.

Tizen 3 has been working great on a BT only model Classic. Battery life the same or better. The GUI improvements are appreciated.

I have to agree. I wonder if the amount of apps on the watch plays a factor in the performance of the watch?
