Tmobile denies ota update........

So after reading numerous post on here and other android forums about the OTA update being released I decided to call TMOBILE and see what gives. My wife and I both have these phones and northern of us have gotten them. Also when n we go to about phone, check for updates it either says no update available, or connection error.
So I called and spoke to a representative and they stated that LG he leaked the update but it has never been approved by tmobile yet. That they are still a few weeks out and maybe by the end of August they should start sending it out. I'm getting impatiant. Should I just get the leak off LG site or wait?

T-Mobile DID release an OTA recently, but then stopped. The OTA was the same as the LG update.

If you're having the usual issues with the phones, then use the LG Update tool and get the update. It's cured the reboot issue I was having, and others have said their phones have had good results too.

If you get the update from LG, you'll lose the LG camera (it has been ported from Froyo to GB over at xda-developers), and if you're rooted, you'll probably lose root as well. This will be the only way that you'll get the new baseband. You can flash ClockworkMod with the nvflash tool after getting the update and then flash a rooted rom using cwm recovery. You can also flash the ported phone app with cwm.

If you're not having issues with the phone, waiting won't hurt. Given their recent history (T-Mobile), you might be waiting a long time.

Wait....TMO pulled that GB OTA update it pushed a couple of weeks ago? Anyone know the reason for that?

I had no idea that T-Mobile pulled the OTA update. I updated my G2x via the LG Updater and it worked absolutely fine. Their are still some minor issues after the 2.3.3 LG update, which may be why T-Mobile pulled the OTA update. My G2x will shut down during a charging session and I will have to pull the battery to get it started up again. This has happened 3 times since the update a few weeks ago. No random reboots however... that is gone. I have also had a couple of issues with phone calls not connecting on the first try, but that used to happen with my Blackberrys as well... so may very well just be a network issue and not the phone. All-in-all, the GB update has completely transformed the phone. It is much faster, better battery life and is what it should have been out of the box in the first place. I am really pleased with the phone at this point.
