Until Amazon allows alternate reader software to be downloaded from their store to the Fire like other Android devices can this Mashable article paves the way.

The Reader's Digest Version (tl;dr for you Internet kids):

1. Install GetJar onto your Fire.

B. Install the Nook For Android app from GetJar store. It's FREE!

3. Sideload epub files into the Nook\My Documents folder.

4. In Nook app, go to your Library and then select My Files from the first dropdown in the upper left corner.

5. PROFIT!!! Or read.

Link isn't readable to non-members of that site. I'm not registering to read it. What did it say?

The site's broken look made me reluctant to sign up.

Fortunately google cache has the full content.

google archive of the article

The one odd thing in the review is the praise of the silk browser.... I certainly haven't noticed the "blazing fast" claims the review makes, that part reads like the promotional stuff being sent out by Amazon in their prerelease publicity stuff. I dunno is it starting to finally get up to speed?
