To Root or Not To Root ...

There's a lot of bloat I'd love to get rid of but quite frankly it scares me. Mostly because I just am uneducated about it. What is the downside to rooting?

A big downside is that your warranty is void once you root (unless you unroot and act like it never happened).

Depending on what software version you have, as well as root method you use, it could trip Knox. That could cause you to permanently void your warranty and there's no going back.

Those are two things to keep in mind.
