1.4 Survey (Yes Or No)
1) Splash screen has gotten hung up
2) Video sometimes doesnt play back
3) Audio ever out of sync
4) Power button sometimes doesn't wake the device up
5) Shutter lag on camera

Stuck on splash screen?
Anyone else notice how sometimes the pre will get stuck on a splash screen? This happened to me when I clicked the phone dialer.....sucks....it never use to hang.

1.4 "Mission Accomplished"?
A flawed 1.4 is released and we haven't heard any official statement regarding any efforts to fix these issues....i feel a little jipped considering that the OS worked about 75x better on 1.3.5.1....if there was a way to put the new video recording app on 1.3.5.1 I would be saying "au revoir" to 1.4! Are you guys feeling something similar?

Video Recording Problems
I haven't used the video recording app much until yesterday when I noticed a couple things.

1) Audio didn't record on two clips

2) One video plays back as a frozen image

3) The Pre will sometimes fail to upload to youtube even with full reception

Anyone else experience these problems?







Did not seem like you were ever too happy with the Pre either considering these posts pulled from Precentral.

Are you ever satisfied with anything??????
 
All three take decent 720p video, but none are that great. The pre doesn't even take VGA quality so why is this turning into a Pre discussion?
 
Stop feeding the trolls....

A) Ignore them, they hate not getting attention. Usually when you ignore them they reply to their own post in an effort to drive it back to the top of the forum hoping someone will bite. In the mean time they check it for hours and hours and hours on end .... think of it like watching a dog chase its tail lol
B) Kill them with kindness. If you absolutely insist on upping your post count, use a reply such as "Yes, if i were you i'd definitely switch to the (insert phone). It was nice having you around". This type of response typically causes angered responses back from the troll but its ok, thats part of the magic.

It seems as if showmrock would be much happier with the iphone and as a gadget lover, I encourage everyone to pursue the gadget they feel best suits their needs ;)

Without some experimental control, it's mostly impossible to compare those 3 videos.

Palm actually addressed those issues and also!!!.....Palm Pre never launched with video recording being advertised....the EVO did.

Want true 720p get an hd camcorder and even then the videophiles complain about compression, codecs, etc... Negative Nancies will be just that....move on folks....
 
Troll? Seriously? I owned an EVO and am hoping HTC steps it up and releases an acceptable version. I would be more than happy to return to the EVO which is why I check these forums daily. Getting people to respond to posts is nice but it's not my goal in any way. I'm not married to HTC, Palm, or any other manufacturer so whoever releases a device that is acceptable in my opinion (features advertised are the features I receive) I'm going to give my business to.

Have you ever used another comparable device claiming 720p resolution? Anything under $500 is gonna be more or less crappy compared to professional rigs. The phone actually does it pretty damn good for what it is. A phone.

Reviewing all of your post history on both Precentral and Androidcentral shows that every post you make you are whining about something.

What phone are you comparing to in all of your complaints?

I am pretty pissed off that my EVO does not have a built in wrench, a blender and a toaster oven but than again it was never advertised as a device that can do everything and can do everything better than everything else can do.

Return your EVO and go get an iphone, hopefully Apple will be smart enough to build in every feature it is that you desire and make sure that it performs better than high end devices that are built specifically for that task. Your only other option is to wait 10 years for technology to catch up to your silly demands, but by than there will be newer features that you will expect to be included in the device.

wrong. plenty of sub-500 cameras/camcorders that takes amazing HD (my hv20/hg10. my panasonic zs3, etc).

but yes as a phone its decent. i just want it to have 30fps and ill be happy
