After 3 months and 6 different screen protectors.. What I noticed is how great the screen is everything is or seems closer to the screen and vibrant hardly any fingerprints .. The touch is amazing it's like a new phone.. After wasting about $100 on screen protectors that all had one weakness or another... If I drop this I'll have to forgo Samsung and choose a flat phone if Samsung continues with the curved screens let them offer a propor screen protector.. BUT FOR NOW, I'M REALLY ENJOYING THE PHONE....

Yes, they have a magic screen with glorious colours! I never use a protector on my phones.
Yes re the curve screens also, I'll go with the S8 Active when it comes out, they have flat screen and are a bit more robust.
Enjoy your amazing device! :-)

You're right - there's nothing quite so amazing as a smooth, pure glass phone screen. I agree that screen protectors are often cumbersome and don't always offer you the best long-term feel/aesthetic. My screen protector (tempered glass) has suffered a few scratches recently; so while I'm glad they're on the protector and not the phone, I do understand what you are saying. Curved screens (my Honor 8 has this same feature) really make it difficult for one to protect them properly (and give successful installments of screen protectors...).

I'm sure if you take care of your phone, it'll work out well the way it is! Good for you! :)

I've been through enough different screen protectors, some better than others, but now it's all naked, I'll rather pay for a screen repair than compromise on how good this device is

You bring up a valid point.

I realised a while back I'd rather pay monthly insurance than play around with screen protectors. I've only broke a screen once and no protector would of saved it that time, I had a replacement within 48 hours. I love the screen on this thing.

I wouldn't spend that much on crappy protectors for these curved screens. If it breaks or gets scratched up might as well just go to a cell repair place and just get new glass put on.

This is such a great thread. I usually think of the insurance as a total scam/profit center, but I just got the Note 8 today and went with the insurance (VZW - the full insurance). I think I will go naked -
- but I'm also thinking of getting some basic case because it does seem slippery and even though I'm covered, I'd like a bit better grip on it and not be dropping it constantly. Is that an issue for anyone?

I go sans screen protector but I wouldn't go without a case, the phone is like a bar of soap at times.

I mainly use the Alcantara case.

So far loving it I too use the Alcantara Case great grip.. No screen protector.... However this is my first time without a screen protector... Slightly worrying as I live by the beach worried about scratches... But so far so good

I'm another one that has no screen protector and the Alcantera case. The perfect combination to me.

I don't mean to be a downer but I decided to "go for it" with no screen protector on my Mate 9. I went about a week and couldn't maintain the courage, put a proector back on. Everything was fine until I went to sell it and removed the protector. There was a traingle-ish scratch in the screen, I would say about 1/4" but you could see it at an angle. I had already posted the sale and I had to go back and change it.

I do sell my phones and cycle frequently because I'm an addict. I am doing fine with the glass protector I have on this phone. I know naked is an even better experience. Since i sell so often, I just consider the protector part of the routine.

And... considering that this phone seems to have some sort of strong gravitational pull and I have actually dropped it - something I never used to do - I should probably stick with the protector. Now, maybe the Note 8 has better glass...

I've never used a screen protector on this phone. I got a wallet styled case shortly after getting it back in September and it seems to be enough protection for me. I got the iPulse wallet case from amazon, nice leather, magnetic clasps keep it shut tight. My screen is pristine to this day.
