I finally took the plunge and gave samsung the boot after 5yrs. I am now the proud owner of an LG G4. I have to say after a week or so I love this phone. I'm glad I went with it rather than the snap choice I was going to make with the G5. Thank you to android central and their review, for that. Thanks to all the folks who gave me advice on switching. I am pretty chuffed with my choice.

I have G4 but i think its much better if you picked V10. Hopefully you dont get the bootloop issue rampant on G4.

Just bought a g4 too will sell the m9 and added insurance just to be certain. I prefer the size over the m9.

Most likely this is a security update, which carrier are you with?

The decision to do a factory data reset after doing updates is a personal one, it is not a requirement. If you just updated to MM and setup your phone again, there would be little reason to have to do a factory data reset again.

Congrats on buying one of the best phones around, especially the Camera.. However, be aware... ENJOY your phone... there are many threads that discuss and point out the Serial Number issue, and its easy to get worried,. bogged down and dis-heartened by these threads and posts.. yes, it IS a very real issue for some which is not good ... but not ALL 505 - 508 devices get the issue and, if you read around about it too much it can put a downer on your shiny new phone and might even stop you from downloading apps, rooting or installing custom roms because of worry..

IMO, ignore these threads until, if ever, it happens.. then we can help you deal with it.,

But for now, imerse yourself in LG goodness because youve taken the first step to realising there are waayyy better devices than Samsung and Apple out there
