Hello guys and gals of AndroidCentral...

I have been looking around and I see that most ROMs require you to wipe system, boot, cache, and sometimes data before you can flash a zip file..

I also see that (with the power of Android Edify) you can create a zip that does it for you.

So, do you have a ROM that you want to flash but need to wipe everything and may want to pertain your data? I can help!

I have created a TOOL (well actually two of them).. one wipes EVERYTHING (BOOT, Boot Animation, System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache, AND /sdcard/.androidsecure)... and the other does the same thing except doesn't remove User Data..

NOW WIPES /BOOT FOR YOU!

HOW TO WIPE THE SYSTEM/DATA (DEPENDING ON WHICH YOU ARE USING)/CACHE/BOOTANIMATION/"/sdcard/.androidsecure" WITH THE ZIP FILES:

Just Flash these in recovery... NO Need to wipe cache or anything... just flash.. This will remove System Files from your system allowing you to flash a ROM without having to manually wipe the system.

DOWNLOADS

New Zip Files that Wipe /Boot Now -

New Zip (1.2) that doesn't wipe data - OCDW1.2_without_data_wipe.zip
New Zip (1.2) that DOES wipe data - OCDW1.2_with_data_wipe.zip

Old Zips that DO NOT Wipe /Boot Partition:

Without Data Wipe - OCDW_without_data_wipe.zip
WITH Data Wipe - OCDW_clean_wiper.zip

DOWNLOAD COUNT - NOTE: I CAN NOT AND WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO VIEW PERSONAL INFORMATION.. MEDIAFIRE JUST TELLS ME HOW MANY DOWNLOAD LINKS I HAVE GOTTEN..

1.2 Zips that DO wipe /boot -

With Data and /Boot wipe - 12 downloads
Without Data Wipe but WITH /boot wipe - 11 downloads

1.1 Zips that don't wipe /boot -

Without Data Wipe - 9 downloads
WITH Data Wipe - 13 downloads

Re: [TOOL][WIPER] One Click Wiper for ClockWorkMod

Probably not much.
Also, Patrick, I've noticed you have quite a few ui prints. This isn't a problem for some, but it sure does get a little annoying for me. Just food for thought :)

Thanks gannon. I will short(en?) it down some later.. Thanks for the honesty there.. That "filled" me up! :-D

I will improve it some.. That's what I thought also... There were so many UI prints that the log FLEW off of the page. I'll shorten that down some.. but hey! It works! :-)

Re: [TOOL][WIPER] One Click Wiper for ClockWorkMod

It is great to see this. I would like to know what real difference there from your zip and this.

http://files.persona.cc/zefie/files/cell/LGLS670/roms/custom/archive/Debug/Debug-FormatALL.zip

Thanks for the feedback..

Differences between the two -

My zip is half the size of this one..

THIS zip is written in amend scripting and MINE is written in Edify.. The zip YOU posted is unable to be flashed in CWM based off of GingerBread (Amend scripting is no longer supported). Which also means mine also has update-binary..

Advantages of THE ZIP YOU POSTED over mine -

The script is small - Mine is uber long with ui prints..

the zip you posted wipes boot also.. I didn't worry about wiping boot because when you flash a new zip, it does it for you really (writes over it)..

Advantages of MINE over the one you posted -

Wipes Boot Animation (*hint* *hint* head over to my Bootanimation thread :-D )

Written In Edif Scripting Language (making it usable on CWM by drewwalton and on gb based cwm)

Wipes /sdcard/.androidsecure... the one that you posted doesn't..

These are just the differences I found..

Hope it helps!

After wiping this?? Haha! I think you mean flashing... ;-)

Glad it helped. Please hit the thanks button on the OP.

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES] One Click Wiper for CWM RECOVE

Has anyone used the dirty wiper (the one without data wipe)?

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES] One Click Wiper for CWM RECOVE

Is there a difference with this and using the wipe /system/cache/etc. from Drew's CWM recovery (not Zefie's)? I thought he was adding in everything that Zefie's debug-format zip had in it.

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES] One Click Wiper for CWM RECOVE

Yes sir.. There is a difference..

system/cache/data only wipes those three..

MY zip wipes bootanimation, /sdcard/.androidsecure, cache, data (depending on which one you choose), system and unmounts everything.

Cool Beans..

Just place on SD..

I have a folder named "A - ROM" so I don't have to scroll through all my crap on my SD Card.. CWM lists A - ROM as the first on the list so I don't have to scroll..

I know FOR SURE that the clean wiper works...

I have it placed like this...

/sdcard/A - ROM/OCDWWORKING.zip...

Just create A - ROM and depending on what you have on your SD, it will list it first.. I've got the folder listed by ROM..

TREE OF A - ROM

/sdcard

It helps to keep at least one nandroid backup stored and at least two versions of every ROM stored as zips in-case something goes wrong, I can just reboot into recovery and fix it right there instead of having to hook my phone up to the computer to flash over a zip file..

I hope I helped you out some with the organization method I use.. :-P

This also wipes your system so you can return to stock

Sent from my LG-LS670 running CyanogenMod 7 and Gingerbread

Wow dude! How big of an sd card do you use? With that many things going on, you have to have at least 5-6 gigs just in that one folder, wow !

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES] One Click Wiper for CWM RECOVE

Thanks for letting us hit almost 450 thread views and 15 downloads!

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES] One Click Wiper for CWM RECOVE

so, this does the same thing as wiping /boot, /system, /data, /cache, but using edify scripting, unlike zefie's zip?

it just saves a few steps before flashing a ROM, essentially?

Actually to my surprise, I have two Nandroid Backups and that stuff and over 200 pics and have 800 MB free.. I have a 4GB SD Card..

Yup.. I just updated it to wipe /boot because I found that if you don't wipe boot, you can run into FC's with system processes... so I am updating the OP now to pull in the new zips..

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES]WIPES BOOT One Click Wiper for

New Zips uploaded that wipes /boot partition so that you can avoid system processes FC'ing...

Look at the OP and Hit the Thanks button if you haven't done it already..

Re: [TOOL][WIPER][FOR ALL DEVICES]WIPES BOOT One Click Wiper for
