Touch screen doesn't work after reassembly...

I bought a used S5 on eBay last week. It worked perfectly except the little O-ring that goes between the front camera and the front panel was out of whack, so the lower half of the picture was black. Today, I followed a YouTube video on removing the front panel so I could fix that. That part went seamlessly. But after reassembling, the phone powers up and acts fine, but the touch screen doesn't work at all. All the buttons work... home, power, volume... but no touch whatsoever.

There are only two cables between the two halves of the phone, and I made sure they were reconnected. I took the thing apart and put it back together several more times, but no luck.

Have I managed to ruin the screen? Is there something else I can do? Ready to use it for target practice. :/

Thanks.

Rob

Without having watch you work, there's no way to even guess what you did wrong. You need someone there who knows how to work on Samsungs and have him look at it. It could be the digitizer, or it could be some simple little thing you're overlooking. (The digitizer isn't the whole screen, but the labor to replace it makes the job a bit more expensive than you can get a whole screen for on eBay [which I wouldn't recommend that you do, I'm just making a price comparison].)
