My touchscreen won't work with some apps, like when I want to update my Google apps at Google Play.

I press "update all" and I can't do anything.

There are also other instances where I can't press anything to work.

Anyone else?

maybe Nice Catch can detect what app/setting is causing this.
which apps are you experiencing this on?
do you use any 3rd party launchers?
if you don't mind, please share device's model number and the software version of it.

Random apps: Google Play, some Android Settings (I think)

I recently changed a SIM, and probably downloaded a few apps.

N960U1; Android 10; Nova Launcher

Did you already look into the screen overlay issue? What you describe sounds very much like that.

Thanks. Someone mentioned that earlier and linked an article.

I just have to scroll through hundreds of apps and play combinations with it, I guess.

I dunno. so daunting.

Yeah, that was me.;)

Common culprits include 3rd party screen dimming apps and blue light filter apps. Do you have either installed?

I know you got the Nova Launcher 'cause you probably enjoy the interface, but if you don't mind... try the stock Launcher and see if the issue persists. Some apps may have issues with 3rd party launchers, i've come across a few posts regarding it.
If you want to push it off as a last thing to do then that's fine, it's your device so....
SIM change shouldn't affect the app's touch interaction, so you can cross that out from the culprit list.

I agree with trying stock launcher

Sorry. been MIA.

I just had to do a 2FA for logging into Google Account, but (obviously) I couldn't press the "Yes" button.

That's pretty frustrating.

Side note: I hear Nova Launcher is doing some kind of major upgrade. I dunno if that's for a new Android OS.

Did you try going back to stock launcher?
