Bummer, the 1st link EC05 Font Fix did the trick, but it took out my battery percent mod where it shows my battery percentages inside the stock battery icon - I then flashed my percent battery mod over hoping it would keep the font fix and let me keep my battery percent, but no go.

So I guess I would rather keep my battery percent than my one bad month where I can't read the date

Is there a way around this? Rooted stock EC05 rom and kernel. It would be nice for next year or maybe Gingerbread will be out by then

I would deal with the one month. You need to use APK Manager 4.9 to de compile the framework-res.apk, then replace the 3 battery XML's in the drawable folder then add in the 125 or so ".pngs" for the battery mod to the drawable-hpdi folder and then re compile the framework-res.apk. Once done then you can throw it back into a flashable zip and flash it.

If you haven't done this before it can be a bit overwhelming to learn but isn't impossible.

Yeah, I guess, I'll deal with the month - to be quite honest, I didn't know I was missing the date until I saw this thread, - hopefully it is just the May month that is glitched out

you should be able to do it without decompiling...

ill give you a quick and gritty howto

i recommend 7zip

open your framework-res.apk in 7zip.

open the drawable res/drawable folder

copy the 3 battery xml files.. they are something like battery error, battery charging and battery status...

then goto res/drawable-hdpi

copy the every file that begins with stat_sys_battery_
and the same with files that begin with a series of zzz or multiple z then stat_sys_battery

then open up my framework-res.apk from the fontfix zip

and copy your files into the same folders and overwrite my files.. but only those files.

place my framework-res.apk back in the zip and flash with cwm. but make sure to nandroid backup first because sometimes this doesnt work right the first time.

the reason this works without decompiling is, the xmls are not really xmls. they are binary representations of xmls and as long as you arent fully uncompressing the apk the signature stays intact..
