Towelroot without warranty becoming ineffective

I've seen posts that say this carrier or that carrier will still honor a warranty on a rooted device even though the device isn't being opened. However I believe most carriers still consider this tampering and will drop any warranty claims made if they detect rooting. You should be able to look up your carrier and their policy on rooting with a simple Google search, but you may also want to consider these two questions; Have you ever filed a claim before, and do you feel like you may need to with this device? If something were to happen and this device needed replaced would it hurt you to do so with the safety net of insurance?

In the US, stores and carriers consider rooting a violation of the warranty. I believe in the EU it's illegal to do so.

Depends on what you did while rooted. If you did something you can't do if not rooted, and forget to undo it before unrooting, they know the phone was once rooted. If you don't do anything that requires root, why root in the first place? It doesn't do anything except let you do things that you can't do if not rooted.
