Tracfone ZTE turns itself on..why?

My wife has a ZTE phone from Tracfone. We know it has been turned off in the evening but sometime the next day the phone has somehow turned itself on. Can anyone tell me if this is a settings problem and how to change it or is this cheapy phone just screwed up.

Welcome to Android Central! When you say you turn it off, do you mean you power it off completely, or just turn the screen off (i.e., put the phone to sleep)?

I get the exact same thing. Turning off in my case is putting the phone to sleep. I also have to restart the phone to turn it off/ put it back into sleep mode.
