trackpad not as responsive with Gingerbread?

Has anyone else found the trackpad to be not as responsive with the Gingerbread update? I swear I used to be able to swipe my finger across it quickly and it would scroll past a bunch of characters. Now if I do it quickly, it only moves the cursor one character. (It's also possible that I'm remembering wrong.)

Is it this way for everyone now? Are there any settings for the trackpad that can be changed without being rooted?

I think you are correct. I don't have my Stock DInc handy, but CM7 and other GB ROM's also have the same effect on the trackpad.
