How long, after Samsung received your previous phone, did you hear the results for your trade in evaluation?

Did they really email you about the process or the result, as I believe their faqs says they're supposed to?

When I did it with the note 8 I never heard anything back from them.

I didn't get notified but they gave me full credit for an old iphone 5.. like $400 or $450 - I forget. I actually don't think they say that they tell you. When you turn it in, you agree that if it doesn't meet the requirements, you will get only $25 credit and you will be charged the rest. However, I do think that people who did not meet the requirements did get notified and those who did, did not. The reasoning being that you already bought it at the discounted price. There's no point in telling you anything more unless you were going to be charged more.

4 weeks exactly, only after I had to pester Samsung community support online.
I did get an email this time , however last year for my trade in I never did get an email.

thank you, everyone, for sharing what happened to you - what Samsung was going to do, and within what timelines, seemed very indeterminate

They recieved my trade in I have proof they recieved it but they claim they did not and charged my card the additional 400.i am still talking with customer service

I think mine was just under 14 days from the day I sent it out I got an email saying it was approved and met all the conditions.

that's why I haven't bought from Samsung direct with people saying they didn't honor the trade ins

I'm fortunate enough to have a bricks and mortar Samsung Experience Store in my home town in the UK so took my s8 in there for trade in which took around 5-10 minutes.

You are fortunate. It's one thing Samsung doesn't do as good as Apple. Apple has stores just about every where but in the states we only have a few Samsung service centers.
