I traded in my Pixel 3 on Samung.com with what I thought was a small, but deep scratch, maybe a ding at best and got the $400 trade in at checkout. I just got an email saying that my screen was cracked. I call bull****. Anyway, I asked them to return it. I got an RMA to return this N20. So pissed. I was loving this phone, but I'm not paying the full price for it. Not worth it when I really don't care about the S Pen. I can get a S20+ with $300 trade in credit for the cracked screen and pay about what I would have for the N20. Or, I can just wait until the iphone comes out. That's what I originally switched from to get the Note.

I traded to Samsung last year with no issues but others had horror stories. So this year I traded in with tmobile and got a better deal.

I won’t get my note 20 ultra until Friday. I originally went with trading in my iPhone X but now I want to trade in a non iPhone like my Samsung s8. Is it possible to change the trade in device?
I believe the answer is no based on the past

To be honest, I think I would consider a ding to be considered a cracked screen. That sucks - I supposed you told them in the ordering process that the screen was not cracked. It's hard to say without seeing it, but I think we've noticed that Samsung could be pretty strict when it comes to how they evaluate the phones.

I would not chance it and have to pay full price.

I would get something in ‘writing’ to the affect of the change. But I definitely understand that issue. I won’t lose sleep if I lose my non iPhone and have to cancel and return it to start over. But I don’t see why I couldn’t. It’s not like it’s $1000 for certain phones etc. it’s $1000 for any phone with a $60 value. I have a few I’d love to give to them. I should have given more thought to it I’ll admit.

This happened when i traded in an s7 edge back in the day with a dead pixel on the screen. They said there screen was unresponsive and broken, which it definitely wasn't since it was used until the day i packed it to. They gave me $25 instead of 275 for trade in and said they couldn't send it back once i sent it in to them. I didn't buy a Samsung product for several years afterwards

I am getting ready to send my Note 10+ to them for trade. These stories are making me a bit paranoid. My phone is in pristine condition. I took photos as best I could as well of a video of it booting and rebooting. Hopefully, there is nothing to be worried about. I would be crushed if they tried to play games with me. I took very good care of the Note 10+ and I would absolutely demand it back if they didn't give full credit for it. I could sell it privately for more than they are offering.

They didn't allow it during the last pre-order because a couple people wanted to do something similar. Their only option was to return and reorder.

From what I have seen they return them now if their is a discrepancy and you don't want the reduced price.

I figured that. Thanks though. Nice of you to check.
Based on the last three trades its been my experience. The first time I traded in a Pixel 3XL I got 600, but the regular Pixel 3 fetched the same price.
