Trade-in value of $183 at VZW, but I'm relocked/rooted on ICS

We seem to digress around here after the op is answered satisfactory

From my XxX rated Rezound

since the folks handling my VZW trade-in has the final say, I guess I'll find out in a day or two.

(it's like the one about the gorilla who bought a valid ticket, but was politely asked to leave
the Bolshoi Ballet gala,
unfortunately)

anyway, I'm now hoping VZW rejects the trade-in and sends the Rezound back to me.... because
there's a MUCH better trade-in offer($215) from an even more reputable trade-in company (don't want
to say the name, because other people reading this thread may end up flooding that company with
Rezound trade-in... but I'll reveal the name after my trade is finalized... yes, I know that sounds
awfully selfish... but $30 extra is still $30 :D )

Well, you were always one to promote trickle down economics. Now we just have to find out why the hell it doesn't trickle.

It's doesn't sound selfish... it is selfish. but understandable in these times. They(verizon) are not going to reject it. They just take the phone and flash it or send it to the repair center and repair the defect and then flash it.

that's cool....

what I don't understand is this.... when I used the trade-in calculator, my HTC Rezound
was quoted $50 highter than my VZW Samsung Galaxy Nexus. (same like-new condition)
but I love both of my GN(CDMA and GSM) and have absolutely no plans to get rid
of them, at least not until the next Google Nexus smartphone shows up! :D

The Nexus was 199 if i remember right where the Rezound started at 299...

I got the Galaxy Nexus(VZW CDMA) for only $95, thanks to the Let's Talk VZW deal/coupon,
on release day.(around 12/16/11... had to wait until 3AM CST to grab the deal but it was worth it.

The HTC Rezound.. got it from VerizonWireless.com when they had a sale for only $49
back in April(?).

See a pattern here? I'm a certified cheapskate who only buys smartphones when
VZW or one of its authorized resellers have incredibe low prices on high-end(or flagship)
smartphones. :D

I just got an email from VZW Trade-In a couple of minutes ago.

My Rezound was accepted without any issues. So I'll be getting $183 as promised.

Oh well... one less thing to worry. :) Guess VZW didn't care that my Rezound was
running the leaked ICS and showed unlocked/relocked. (not to mention Clockworkmod)

I hope they at least have the decency to flash it back to GB... or the next buyer will
be surprised to see ICS on it. :D Who knows... the buyer may end up coming here
to ask questions! :) (look for 5 tiny black dots, arranged in pentagon pattern, on the

Ummmmm.. Is anyone surprised that they will offer anything for you to switch plans.

Think that's interesting? Check the value for a Galaxy S III. The 16gb gets less than $100.

so....what is that other site that offered you more?????

And I only show $133 from VZW. The highest I saw out there was $184 on a google search. They are selling for more that $185 in the marketplace at XDA.

sorry... I thought I mentioned this earlier... but I put that $220 deal in a separate thread. :)

(but only works if you're upgrading from HTC Rezound to a Samsung Galaxy II, Galaxy III, or Galaxy Note(on any carrier).
