Trademark Infringement?

I apologize if this has been mentioned and I havent seen it, but since HTC and Motorola are both being sued for a trademark infringement, is it possible that the almighty hand of Steve Jobs is squeezing Verizon and HTC for the same thing? HTC is being sued by the internet search engine ChaCha and will have to remove that name from one of their facebook phones, and Motorola is being looked at for trademark infringement on the name Xoom, as that name is used by an online bill pay service.

In this day and age where a name is so strongly associated with certain products, might this be the issue considering Verizon's courting of the apple product line?

If you started ChaCha, would you want some other major company using your name? I sure wouldn't. What does this have to do with Apple? There is no need to start slinging rumors about Steve Jobs/Apple having an invisible hand touching everything.

I don't see anything in common with bill pay and a tablet.

There are a lot of things that have the same name.

If I were Erik Buell/Harley Davidson I'd be suing HTC over this Thunderbolt phone business. The Buell Thunderbolt was in production from 1994-1995 and 1997-2002.

Verizon owns the Thunderbolt trademark.

For phones, yes. Intel trademarked Thunderbolt, apparently, but it was a confidential one. (the name is trademarked on the box for the Macbook Pro I just bought)
