OK... for reasons out of my control I had to switch providers from Verizon to TMobile with my Note 4.
I bought out my Note 4 and brought it to TMobile.
I love it to death... think Verizon service is great... (Much better data coverage than TMobile, for example) but I'm saving roughly $100 per month by adding it to the TMobile family plan the rest of my family already has.
That said, the switch hasn't been what you would call seemless.
When I first switched, many of the computer systems you dial into (The ones saying "if you want X, press 1," for example, couldn't "hear" the key tone. TMobile was unaware of the DTMF setting on Verizon phones that changed the tone length from "normal" to "long." After I stumbled across that, I changed the setting and that ended the problem.) which resulted in many calls to tech support.
But today, I got a voice mail notification from a call made Friday that was critical to me and I needed to know about it when it happened. I don't know if it was the phone's fault or TMobile's fault... but it was the last straw.
So, I made the decision to switch phones... from the Verizon version Note 4 to the TMobile version Note 4... which will also get me WIFI calling which the Verizon unit does not have.
I just don't have the patience to arm wrestle with this thing any more.
TMobile's trade in deal is $350. They're saying that if I can find a better trade in deal, they'll match it PLUS add a $50 certificate. If I stick with the $350, I then have to pay $399 spread out over 24 months at 16 and change per month.
So, what I'm looking for is a better deal. When I google it, all the deals that come up are like the $200 rebates you get when you trade in, say, an S3 for a Note 4.
I was initially thinking to sell the phone on Craigslist for $425 or something... but if I can do better, I will.
Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something about the Verizon version that I'm just overlooking?
Thanks!
