Android Central Question

How do i transfer photos from Google photos back to my phone's gallery app? When i open Google photos and long press a photo i want to transfer the only options in the menu are "Delete from device" and "Archive". There's no download option or restore option. If i just click on the picture and open the menu there are more choices but still no download or restore.,

Welcome to Android Central! That means the photo is still locally saved. It should show up in your stock Gallery app. Is the photo saved to the /DCIM/Camera directory?

Try going to Settings>Apps, select Gallery, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Then open it again and wait a few seconds for the database to rebuild. Do the photos show up now?

In Google Photos, open the picture you want back on your phone. Click the 3 dot menu in the top right and choose Save to Device. This will download to your default DCIM folder but inside another folder called Restored. (location depends on if you save to internal or SDCard)
So when you go to your Gallery app, look for a folder called Restored. You may have to switch to Album view to see it as even when I have it selected as recent it doesn't show up.
You would think it would go to the downloads folder considering your downloading it or at best the camera folder but Restored it shall be... Hope this helps someone as no one online has posted the correct info.. and deleting the cache doesn't do anything as it's working as intended just not going where you'd think it would.

I have a galazy s7. There is no option to download photos from Google. Only select, layout, create new album shared album, photo book, movie, animation or collage. NO Download. This can't be this difficult.
