I installed at 32GB SD card because of low on memory. I found I could not find away on my phone to move the apps to my SD card. What do I do?

Since Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), Android no longer support running apps from the SD card. If you're rooted there is, apparently, a method to hack this (search on XDA). But is it really apps that are filling up your storage or music, movies or pictures? Those can easily be moved to the SD card.

Think it is time for some Spring Cleaning and get rid of the Unused Apps.

Seriously! I've got about 95 apps downloaded and installed and am only using 1.3 GB for app storage.

But, on the assumption that you've got some really big games and truly use all your apps, I think you have two options: trade your phone for one with 32GB of memory or look into that hack on XDA and, if you decide it's something you want to do, root.

I forgot how much bloatware was on this the phone. I have 82 apps and two of them are games so I am going to do some spring cleaning.

I have rooted and played with roms before and I prefer to keep my phone stock.

The next time I buy a phone, I will make sure to have 32gb of memory. My next phone will be a S5 or Nexus 5.

Thanks guys for all your help.

The mod over at XDA it hAs really nice to have. I'm currently using it with my 32gb card. Only thing development has stopped on it. I found it does work on 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 touchwiz roms but wont work on 4.2,2 aosp roms. I wish I could find out how to change the script for it to work on 4.2.2 and I've tried sending messages to the dev but no luck.

I have removed all my third parry apps except for a browser, comic and bank app. I am stikk running into not having enough storage space. These t-mobile and samsung apps are eating up storage with all their updates.

Hi ibought star galaxy s4 (clone of smsung) and i see 32gb is useless- maps cant be stored
Sygic nav. Is very limited due that. I had never had android and i m very surprised these ideas keep all apps in internal memory?! The best was win.mob 6,5
Is it possible to find a way to use sd for apps like sygic navigatio? Thnx

You may need to wipe the cache partition, do the following:
1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key at the same time.
3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the buttons.
4. Press the Volume Down key to move to and highlight wipe cache partition.
5. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache partition.
6. After the wipe is finished, go back up till reboot system now is highlighted and press the Power key to restart the phone.

I tried the Vol Up button, Home key, and Power button method on my Droid Razr Maxx and it didn't work.
My phone does not have a hard Home key. I am running Android 4.1.2
Any suggestions?

Justin,
Your comment doesn't really relate directly to clearing the cache, however, it does get to the bigger issue which is trying to get more space on the internal storage. I experimented with your idea and it has indeed moved the App data to my SD card. I'm not sure if it actually moves the App itself, but it will definitely helped clear up space on the internal storage!
Thanks much Justin!

Update: I moved the Apps related files as well, and then deleted everything, including the folders, on the Internal storage, and the Apps still work!
