I seem to be having some difficulty transferring my old contacts from my old iPhone to my new Nexus 5.
I believe the easiest way to do this is via iTunes by going on info and syncing the contacts to Google but when I try to do this there is no option for syncing with Google only Windows and another. I have my gmail account set up on my phone and even set up a Google 'CardDav' account.
Not very clued up on this would be grateful if anybody could help

Can you not install gmail on the iPhone first? Doesn't it offer to sync your iTunes contacts during setup?

Google how to do this. You will end up creating an exchange account I believe. If you google how to do it it'll tell you the exact information to put in. It will sync contacts. You will create this account on your iPhone.

I downloaded the Bump app on both phone and bump transfer the contacts from the iphone to nexus. If you have a lot of contacts you might have to bump more than once. Seems like there is a limit on how many contacts it can transfer each time.

If you have iphone 4s do you also have an icloud account? If so, log onto your icloud account and select contacts. Then select all and copy all the contacts from your existing contact list. Now select Export. This will export all of the contacts as a file to wherever you choose to save it (I'd advise your desktop or downloads folder). Now log onto gmail account. Select Contacts. Then select import and simply import the file you previously saved. Voila! All your previous contacts now set up and in your gmail account and they will subsequently sync directly to your phone :)

How do you actually do this? I opened both bump on IPhone and Asus Tablet and bumped them. The only thing that transferred was my vcard? I have about 600 contacts I need to transfer.
Thanks!

this.

its the simplest, cleanest, fastest way to do it imho. i did this when transferring my wife's contacts from her iphone 4s to the nexus 5. easy as cake.

There are obviously several ways to do it - I synced my iPhone with Outlook on my PC using iTunes, and then I exported my Contracts and Calendar and uploaded them into Google.

I also discovered that you don't need a GMail account - you can have contacts without the mail.

If you were on a Mac & iCloud, you could simply export your Mac's address book as a vCard archive and upload/import them to Google.

Very easy and simple way to transfer the contacts from iphone to nexes 5: First download the app IS contact kit from I tunes in the iphone. Using the app, export contacts and send it through a gmail used to sign in for Google account in nexes phone. Now in nexes phone open the mail and download the attached v card by using people app. No limitations to export no.of contacts.
