Transferring large files?

Quick question, how would one go about transferring large files, ie a movie that is 8 gig, to the phone? When I try it says the file is too large for the file system.

are you trying to drop it on your sd with the usb cable?

Yes. Would it be better to just take the SD card out and put it in a card reader?

shouldnt be a problem unless there is no room on the card.
