transferring music-cloud issues

I have Verizon and a Galaxy S9 and am trying to transfer music from a service such as Verizon cloud or google play to my music player on my phone. Somehow I did it at one time from Google Music I think but now cannot get anything to transfer to my cloud - google or anything to my music player. I have cleared cache I have downloaded new music players but it won't transfer. I can get it from Verizon cloud to music player BUT cannot get any music to transfer to the cloud using Google Music and/or Amazon music that I have purchased and downloaded. Any help would be appreciated
 
For Google Play Music tracks, did you download the mp3 tracks on your PC, then copy those files over to the phone? If you download the tracks using the GPM app on the phone, those tracks are for use only by GPM, not by any other music player. It's an odd issue that I think was probably intended to discourage rampant piracy, but could simply be typical Google oddness.
 
i used my phone- I wonder how I have so many tracks on my Verizon Cloud? How did I get them to there and how CAN i get them there- what do I used to download it to my Verizon cloud? Do I need to be on an actual PC and plug in a USB maybe download to my computer then transfer to Verizon cloud that way??
