Hey guys,

just having trouble transferring music from my PC to the my new Nexus 6P (in which i absolutely love!!)

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. Copying photos was fine, however when trying to do the music i get an error saying it can not copy.

Thanks in advanced :)

Just use the Google Music Manager and use Play Music on the phone. Download whatever ones you want from there and you're set. That way you're also backing up your library.

So there is no drag on drop feature like every other Android device i have used?

Just not keen on uploading a few thousand songs

Okay i figured it out!

I only had the photo transfer selected on the phone, not file transfer!!

The excitement of the phone has won this battle

Sounds like you figured it out. Uploading a few thousand songs is nothing with the music manager. Select the folders and it will do the rest. That way you won't have a headache whenever your HD fails and you lose all of your music.

I am with the original poster on this. I have been waiting a while for a Nexus with large storage or SD slot just so that I could store my music.

I fly an average of 4 days a week, and there isn't free data in the sky. Besides, why should I burn data for cloud syncing music i already own?

But I do agree the Play Music is a great music manager. :)

Now if my N6P 128gig will ever get here... Ughh

My point lies more with the backing up of media on more than just one physical medium. Also, WiFi wouldn't burn up your data. =)

I've just about switched totally over to Play music since the Itunes music messed up all my playlist. I still have a big selection that I have saved on my pc that I will still transfer to my 6p, that's why I wanted the 128GB. I used to use Isyncr, it's a great app for transfering your Itunes library to Android.

WiFi on airplanes is seldom free. It is also unreliable, and never available below 10,000 ft. - not a good solution!

btw, just because you upload it to cloud doesnt mean you cannot store the music offline.

all you have to do is while on wifi just save all your music to offline and you can play those music without data

I don't purchase any iTunes content - I have my own from other much better sources. However, I think iTunes on the desktop is by far the best music organizing software. Nobody does smart playlists as well as iTunes. iSyncr does a very good job syncing my iTunes library with my Android devices in conjunction with Rocket Player (IMO the best music player). It all is very seamless, and works very well. As far as backup, I have my music backed up in at least ten different places both online and offline, so I never worry about losing it. It all works for me...

hey mate just wondering how you did it, when i plug in my nexus 6p theres no folders or anything. I have a flight tomorrow and wanted to drop some movies and music like i did with my old phone. thanks

Once you plug in the Nexus you need to slide top down on the phone to bring up the USB options. Select that and choose file transfer. That should work mate

I use doubleTwist myself.

I used doubleTwist for the first time this past weekend and was very pleased that it transferred all my music and iTunes playlists flawlessly from iTunes to my phone. The interface is nothing fancy, but I wasn't looking for fancy; I was looking for functionality. And I like the widget. Very happy. Haven't had all my music and playlists on one device since my old iPhone 4S.

They're also making improvements to doubleTwist as well - 10 band equalizer, new audio engine, material design. Supposedly around Christmas time.

Same here. Apple Music and iTunes Match are kind of a wreck now. I'm currently redownloading all my music with the intention of adding it all to Google Music.

I'm happy Apple Music for Android is now available, even if still in beta. This will probably be how I download my music onto my phone.
