Transferring photos onto new phone

Hi, folks....Need the help of the collective expertness of this group: Transferred from a GS4 to new GS6E, and the woman at Verizon couldn't take the time of transferring my photos. So, she gave me my memory card that was in my GS4, and said "it's easy to transfer from here to the new phone". Ummm, not so easy. I downloaded the pics to my Mac desktop, but even with a USB cord, the phone isn't accepting the photos. Please help! TIA...

Welcome to Android Central! Have you already tried Android File Transfer? This is the official Mac software for transferring files, but I've heard from others that it can be buggy. If it doesn't work, then you could also try wireless file transfer solutions like AirDroid or Wifi File Explorer.

Also try Samsung's Smart Switch.

Back them up. There are many options like Google photos and Dropbox. That way you will always have them if something should happen to your phone.

Also make sure usb debugging is turned on.

Enabled developer options, turn on USB drive. Plug in phone, backup photos to pc.

To put it on the phone, in the phone directory, (the root) make a folder called DCIM, then inside that make a folder called Camera, or your old pics in there. You will see them in your camera roll.
