Transmit sound FROM TV to Android?

I will soon purchase a SMART TV from Samsung. I use a Samsung Galaxy S5, and would like to hear the tv on my Android (headphones) only. Most SMART tv's, of course, do the opposite.

Any Samsung SMART tv's allows me to do this?

I haven't heard of transmitting JUST the sounds, but there is an app that allows you to mirror the entire screen contents. Not all Samsung Smart TV's support this, so you'd have to check that in the TV specs. You'd need either SmartView or WatchON app on your phone/tablet depending on your model. I think the S5 still supports SmartView, but I'd just look for WatchON with Bring from TV.

Downside? There's a delay in what you're actually watching on TV VS what you're receiving on the phone or tablet, so 'real time' listening might be out of the question... but you can watch it directly on the phone or tablet instead with no delay. What I do when I go to...ummm.. some place.. and I don't want to miss a moment, I just mirror the TV onto my tablet and run to the... that place... and if you want to be power-conscious, most of these TVs have a feature to turn off the screen, so you'll still be hearing audio and the contents are still streamed, but the TV's screen (power hungry) will not be on.

Thanks. I'm not sure this is what I'm looking for, to be honest. The goal I have is to have no sound from the tv speakers, just listen to the tv on my Android headphones.

I'll be buying a 65" tv, and watching on my tiny Android wouldn't make sense.

Yeah, you are. I just use that when I have to go...erm... places hehe and don't wanna miss a thing. But for your particular need, I think your only shot is to get wireless headphones.

OR, did the S5 scrap the FM Radio or not? If it hasn't, you can get an FM transmitter, hook that up to your TV's AUX line and then tune into the selected frequency on your Android.
