Transparent NavBar

Is there to way to make the NavBar (except the icons) transparent? It white always bothers me and hiding it is just another gesture I need to do before pressing it. So that is inconvenient.

Try settings, display, navigation bar. The first color choice looks sort of transparent.

transparent would be good, but the best I've come up with is theming with the color of my choice (black). I also auto-hide it.

How do you make it black? I don't see that option. Furthermore, if you make it black, can you still see the icons?

Samsung Theme Store. you can default to touchwiz and apply a theme and then go back to whatever launcher you're using and the theme stays. doesn't work on some apps or the notification panel, but works great otherwise. lots to choose from.
