tried root droid forgot to back up first

i am new to these sophisticated devices but learned quickly that a rooted device was more accesable and user controlled so i tried and oops before i knew it i didnt back up any files needles to say it jacked my phone up it will still power up but as soon as homepage comes on it starts discharging the battery and says connect charger even if it is hooked up and doesn't want to run keeps forcing closed i have tried to do recovery and bootlogger but cant fix problem if any one has a fix to this issue i would be most greatfull

Okay, so, what is happening? When you turn the phone on it is saying you need to connect the charger? What is force closing?

well let me try to give a better detail cenario of what im dealing with at first glance it appears my moto droid is powering up as normal until about 5 seconds after the droid eye appears on the screen then it goes haywire the red led in the top corner comes on and stays on sometimes i can get lucky and it will remain on for a few minutes the home page appears and all the app icons are still in the menu tab but tryin to open any of them is a nightmare it will say sorry process system is not responding force close/wait if i am using usb to laptop it will usally stay on a lil longer also the battery icon is red with a slash through it i have to charge the battery externally it kills the batt. pretty quick even not powered up it discharges the battery i have tried a few different battery's. we so on with the rest i have tried bootloader and i cant find devices on my pc i had tried backup and restore i have also tried putting programs on sd/card and then reinstalling it in the droid to get it to boot from update.zip with no luck there either i have tried rsd lite i have tried sdk tolls i have tried several one click options to no aveil still the problems persist no better no worse well i think thats about all of the nightmare im livin but i have hope that there is still life in this ole jewel in all it is most likely something i am doing wrong or certain files i am missin or uploading wrong as i stated in my first post i am new to the smartphones and progarms that they operate on well i hope this info will aide in a more sucessful attempt to make necessary repairs

Did you try and do a factory reset, either from when it boots up, or, recovery menu? If so, and, it failed what happened when you tried it?

yes i have tried a factory reset and i have tried recovery i have tried using rsd lite and keep getting error message xml files missing or something along them lines i am at wits end with this i know it can be repaired just dont know how or what tools to use that actully work without having a major degree in programming i will give this as much tome to figure out as needed
