Tried to "pull" the OTA update, didn't work, can I bring phone into VZW for repair?

I followed the steps to the letter as posted here, but my phone is now on the fritz. It keeps starting up/rebooting constantly.

Will a VZW store restore my phone to its original settings for me, i.e., Android 2.1, even though I tried to "pull" the Froyo OTA update?

The same thing happened on my Incredible when I tried to install the update. If you go to a Verizon store and tell them that you got the OTA and it broke the phone then they will replace the phone with a refurbished Incredible! They had none in stock at my VZW store so they had to send me one.
