Trouble playing music on microSD card

I just received a 16GB Sandisk Class 4 microSD card, and after formatting the card and placing my music on it, I cannot seem to get it to play. Anytime I open AmazonMP3 or the default player, it force closes on me. I cannot seem to get it to play if I go through the Files folder either. I can, however, get it to play on Google Music, but it takes a long time to open a folder once I pick an artist.

Is there anything I can do to remedy the issue? The software is up to date, and no rooting or anything has been done to it.
