Trouble with Visual Voicemail

Hi everybody. I'm having trouble setting up visual voicemail. Is this available natively, or do I have to download an app for it? FYI, I'm using Microsoft Launcher.

What carrier are you on? I'm on cricket and their voicemail app hasn't worked since the android P upgrade, but reading their app reviews it doesn't seem specific to the n7.1.

Update, I spoke too soon. Yesterday Jan 11 cricket voicemail app was updated and now it works on my n7.1. So minus one excuse for me not checking voicemail.
