I'm confused on exactly what the HTC 10's capabilities are, with respect to playback of high quality audio. It sounds like what it can do is upconverts 16-bit audio to 24-bit audio to improve regular audio sound quality. That's nice, but can it natively play back true HD audio? For example, can HD FLAC music files (24bit/96khz, or 24bit/192khz) or DSD files be played, with the output going through the headphone jack?

24bit FLAC — yes.
DSD — I think so.
Since 2015, Snapdragon DACs support playing DSD files, but you may need to download another player from Google Play.
