Really liking this, works awesome! Haven't read anything about this, was surprised to find the setting on my phone, maybe it's not new. Works so much better than it did on my s8 and note 8.

Yeah it works a lot better and faster than it did a few years back. It works really well on this Pixel 2. I had it on for awhile but I've changed back to just the fingerprint sensor for now.

So it isn't new..sorry for the post. Been with iOS for years. S8 brought me back and its face unlock is different than this trusted face. Thought this was new.

how different is it from the faceID on iOS?

Not really too sure how faceID works. I have mine on and when I wake my screen you can see a little face icon down at the bottom and once it recognizes you it'll switch to an open lock (very fast!) From there swipe and your done. Makes replying to text very fast from lock screen, after you see the open lock you can hit reply from the notification on the lock screen. The phone doesn't have to be directly facing you either. Works surprising good.

To unlock the phone you can double tab the screen and it wakes and recognizes your instantly. Or use finger print sensor.

Faceid is the same as windows hello. It uses a depth camera to create an encryption key... Making it very hard to fool. Android trusted face can be fooled with a photo and says such in the setup... Which is why it's kinda hidden.

works great on my note 8 can't really tell the difference between the two. Also not sure why one would work better than the other.
