2.4 and 5 GHz networks on the same router are always separate (you'd see a 2.4 and a 5 option to connect to) unless, for noise-reduction reasons, the router has disabled either of those connections. Now, when connected to the same router, unless they have been configured NOT to do so, devices should be able to 'see' each other, so in theory you should be able to connect to the phone even if it's on the 5GHz network.

If the camera, however, needs a direct connection to the phone or is somehow restricted to 2.4GHz somehow, you'd have to manually select the 2.4GHz network on your phone WiFi options (just like connecting to a different network, because they ARE different networks).

Thanks.
I haven't figured out how to change on my 10+, but went on line and got it.
Trying to connect to outside security camera. That uses 2.4.

You can't 'change' anything on the Note (as in you can't turn off or switch 2.4/5 GHz on the phone; they're both always on). Only thing you can do is connect to a 2.4GHz network OR a 5GHz network (again, most routers that support both frequencies will usually have the same network name and the 2.4G or 5G descriptor at the end of the name, and you should see both networks available on your phone if the ROUTER doesn't have either of them disabled).

What's the brand and model number of the router? Maybe you can log into the router's settings via your computer browser and see if something there needs to be adjusted. For example, make sure the 5 GHz band is turned on, and that the SSID doesn't have the exact same name as the 2.4 GHz band's SSID.

If you have the option in the router, name 2.4 and 5 differently. Then you can choose which one your phone connects to.

Thanks, yes that is what we had to do.
