So I downloaded BB 4.0.3 from ROM Manager and when it was finished, I clicked to backup, wipe data, and wipe Dalvik cache. It says superuser is granted, reboots and after the google screen goes off, it boots to a screen with the android guy with a red triangle and exclamation point over him. i hit power an volume and it will let me reboot back to normal, or do a cache wipe or factory reset. What is going on that I can't flash the ROM? As I said, I'm rooted, with superuser showing, using root only apps, but something must not be right. Any ideas?

Don't use ROM manager. Boot into CWM and flash whatever it is you want to flash.

for whatever reason, it wouldn't let me boot into CWM by holding down the buttons. I went back into ROM manager, reflashed CWM and then rebooted into recover from there. Seems to be working now. I'm in recovery and making a backup.

Well, maybe not. I flashed the BB zip file from CWM and rebooted. Now my phone has been booting up for several minutes. Got past the google screen, but it's been on the colorful screen for a while. Just let it keep going or do a battery pull?

Did you try to reflash the recovery in Rom manager just before rebooting into recovery? Sometimes that works for me.

edit: too late.

This is a feature, not a bug :)

The stock image has a file that doesn't allow you to boot into CWM Recovery. It will repeatedly reflash the stock recovery on reboot even if you install CWM Recovery.

You just have to delete the file and the problem fixes itself.

1) Mount the system folder as r/w
2) navigate to system folder via root explorer or Astro or whatever
3) delete the file: recovery-from-boot.p
4) Mount the system folder as r
5) reboot

OK, I did this, got to recovery, wiped data and cache (after making a backup of course) and loaded the BB rom. Rom installed fine and I rebooted. Phone has been booting on the nexus boot animation for about 10 minutes now. What am I doing wrong? I've rooted my droid before with several different roms, but have never had this much trouble getting one on. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.
Usually first boots take a while as its rebuilding your cache. All set now?

after about 30 minutes, i pulled the battery and just restored. After re-reviewing your how-to manual on here, I realized I forgot to clear the dalvik cache. Think that would make it freeze up in the boot animation? Should it take THAT long?

Well it must have been the dalvik cache because it booted right up after wiping that and installing again.
