So I'm trying to root my thunderbolt using this method:

http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...9-mac-procedure-how-root-htc-thunderbolt.html

Okay, here's where I'm having problems, when I open the terminal and type in the listed steps (from procedure above) and then type in ./adb devices and when the terminal lists devices my phone is not listed....

here is what the terminal says after I input the following commands..

please help....ive spend over 6 hours trying to make this terminal list my device. I've tried rebooting my computer with my phone attached, tried rebooting and reconnecting my TB....debugging is connected, disk drive is connected....I feel like I've tried everything.

ohhh....one more thing, I'm using a macbook. OSX

thanks in advance

marcus

I know someone out there has been through this, or knows what command I need in order for my macbook to see the device.

help :-\

Did you double check to make sure you did this step?

Then hit the menu capacitive button > settings > applications > development > check USB debugging > then click Ok.

do this, it worked for me. it is exactly what I did.

1. unplug the usb from the computer.
2. plug it in. set it to disk drive. make sure debugging is checked in settings.
3. iphoto should pop up. wait for it, then close out the window.
4. open terminal
5. enter the code to get into the sdk and type ./adb devices

it should come out with this:

* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
HT11TS009854 device

follow these instructions exactly because I just tried it and it worked.
Let me know! :)

hi, thanks for the reply. I did all the steps exactly as you said and this is what happened...

I have watched his video numerous times just to make sure, and I've gone over all the steps a hundred times. Ive tried doing a hard reset on my phone, ive tried reinstalling all the files etc...nothing seems to work.

ok guys, I tried using my girlfriends computer (pc) and I'm following the steps in this thread: http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...ocedure-how-root-thunderbolt-adb-windows.html

okay, Im almost finished with the whole root process.....but when I get to this part (below) i keep getting this error message in the command window that reads;

c:\Users\owner>adb devices
'adb' is not recognized as and internal or external command, operable program or batch file
.

this is currently where I'm stuck at!!! HELP ASAP!!! Thanks

Files:

Open your SD card via Windows Explorer and delete PG05IMG.zip.
Next, download & copy this new PG05IMG.zip file to your SD card.

Enter or copy/paste the following adb (without the >) lines in the command window:

> adb devices

WARNING:
The Command window should return a result that displays your device (the name will vary from the one shown). If it doesn't show as attached, you will not be able to continue.

Do you have pdanet installed on your mac. I did, and once i deleted it it worked. I was so relieved lol i tried everything.
