So I started unrevoked3, then it rebooted, then went to the HTC splash screen. Now the screen is off and it is not doing anything. I've tried the power button but it's not coming back up. The unrevoked app said it was safe to restart if necessary so I restarted unrevoked3 but nothing seems to be happening.

When I unplug then plug the phone back in my Mac detects it being connected but the screen is still black...is my wife going to be pissed at me? I can still make a break for it...

Never got it to root. I found another thread saying the latest update from the other day breaks root. I did a battery pull and restarted and back to where I started which is a good thing!

A little off topic but are you saying that since I installed the new update now I can't root my phone?

I understand that if you have rooted previously with Unrevoked and you have s-off then all you have to do is put the recovery file on the root of your sd card , then install the superuser app.
There is a thread on it on XDA developers website.

Can you point to the specific thread please? I've been hunting their forums for half an hour now and haven't found instructions as to how to get the recovery file... or where to get the superuser app. Is it the one published by ChainsDD in the Market?

Thanks!

im sorry i do not know how to put files on here or show a link.
But i can tell you if you go to unrevoked forever's web page , there is a detailed step by step on how to perform this procedure.
It has the links to the superuser app , and the recovery file.
