Trying to upgrade to DL09 and then to Froyo

I'm using a friends computer and trying to update to DL09 using Odin. My question is do I need to unzip or unpack the file before I flash with Odin and if so what is the best software to use?

no need to unzip or unpack the tar file. Just download it to your computer and follow the instructions in the threads. Are you asking which version of EB01 to use? That is really a personal preference. Stock version has all the verizon bloat, debloated/deodexed gets rid of the verizon bloat, and superclean does further customization. And you can throw any questions out in the existing threads. Just find the thread that seems most appropriate for your question and post it there. Someone will get you answers and help you.

Also, what version are you running right now? There is probably no need to go to DL09 then to Froyo. You should be able to go directly to Froyo.

it depends on the file,,, if you are using my either the stock or the debloated, no you dont need to unzip

if you are using the superclean odin flash, yes i have that one compressed

if you need your computer to recognize the .tar format you will need 7zip download HERE
