TTS language options

On Fascinate, there are only two TTS language options: american english and . Is this eclair native or just samsung? Is there some tweaks available - besides tts extended, which works with only a few apps? Or do we have to wait for froyo for more language options?

I was searching in my rooted files and found a native TTS apk on the FS. I am wondering if I can install this program to get TTS to work?

I also found a Native android voice recorder too. Can any of these be installed and work normally? Does anyone know?
