Turbo 2 maximum brightness is not that bright... Any way to increase it?

The maximum brightness on the turbo 2 is slightly dimmer than the note 5 without auto boost. Once auto boost kicks in on the note 5, it would be much brighter.

Here is a comparison on max brightness without auto boost on the note 5.


Any way to increase the brightness on the turbo 2 beyond what is allowed in the settings?

Rooting and maybe Xposed Framework might be able to change the brightness settings.

This what i was going to suggest.

I have both the turbo2 and the note5. My advice to you is to not try and compare the two, the note5 is an industry leading screen, and the turbo2 while a great screen is made to be rugged, so you sacrifice a little bit of quality.

Samsung usually gets brighter than motorola, but like i said, they are two different types of screens.

All those screen layers have an effect. The DT2 screen is dim to me, but I agree if you don't use another phone to compare it with you'd probably get used to it and be fine.

I saw a review the other day that listed all the top phones brightness levels. Unfortunately, T2 was at the bottom. Makes no sense because with that big battery, they could certainly up the juice.

It was still better than the T1, which coming off the T1 is very important to me. I was worried it might actually be lower than that based on what I've read from the initial impressions, but there was no doubt the screen on the T2 was brighter than the T1. The T1 was nice, but never S6 or Note 5 quality. So just because it's not at the absolutely elite level, doesn't mean it's not nice. I think the screen is definitely solid, and I'm happy with it. This all just boils down to what you prefer in a phone subjectively. If screen is your most important feature, then the T2 might not be your best choice. But it still has an excellent screen, and when you weigh in all of the other features, it makes one of the best phones on the market today with out a doubt. Based on my list of prized features, I rank screen high, but other things slightly higher. Once I saw the screen was up to par, it was no brainer to me that this would be my next phone. If you really find the brightness level unsatisfactory, I think you must be comparing it side by side with one of the true elites, but on its own, I doubt anyone would really think anything else other than the screen looks really nice.

I like the note 5 screen better but the turbo 2 screen quality is perfectly fine for me,other than the brightness.

There is many variations of shadows. The T2 shows smooth surfaces where the S5 shows texture. I'm sure that I will get used to it, but people should know there is a significant difference. BTW, I'll also miss the IR blaster and image stabilization.

Ugh, don't remind me of IR blaster. It's been a painful change.

My eyes must not be as sensitive to dynamic range as most. I was also worried about a dim screen after reading negative reviews about the T2. I have been very pleased with the display. It looks brighter and sharper than my wife's note 4. When I walk thru the local Verizon store and hold the T2 side by side to other devices, I don't see much of a difference. Yes the newest Samsung phones are a bit brighter and the displays seem to have more of a "pop" to them, but that's their thing. Even so, it is barely noticeable to me. Admittedly, I usually keep my display at about 75% because that seems to be a good brightness level for me.

Brightness is fine to me. Brighter than my turbo 1 for sure and whiter whites. The turbo 1 also has a much more yellowish tint than the turbo 2. I did play around with the note 5 in the store and it is brighter, but like most people here, I'm assuming you bought the turbo 2 for its other screen feature....
