I used to do this on my Bionic to save my battery. But it seems sometimes the 4G here gets borked and you can still get data in 3G as long as your phone is on that mode. How can I force my phone into 3G mode?

*#*#4636#*#* doesn't work on the Note 3 like it did on the Bionic.

Go into your mobile network settings and just turn of LTE. I did that - works fine.

You can use the "advanced signal status" app from the play store

FBA. Don't have that option on the Verizon Galaxy note 3. Network mode options on that scree are Global, LTE/CDMA, GSM/UMTS.

Nothing with HSPA?

These are your options on Verizon. No option to switch to cdma 3g only from the menu. You would have to use the app above or similar to access the cdma only (3g)option.

My lte was down for 3 days last week an d was forced to use 3g . I used much more battery. Streaming for 3 hours I was down to 75 percent. When lte was back Same streaming, same time, I was at 88 percent. Much better battery life on lte.

THE BEAST,,NOTE 3. SIZE IS EVERYTHING!!!

Obviously if your phone has to work a lot less then you use less battery.. If it takes 3 mins to download something or 10 seconds to download something, which do you think logically speaking uses less battery? I have incredibly fast lte signal. My average is 25 down 15 up. I stream sirius radio all day and it's night and day the difference between 3g and lte. Always buffering or never buffering?
